Little gears up for a return to ACE Speedway

SHERRILLS FORD, North Carolina (August 25, 2011)-Jesse Little returns to ACE Speedway in search of a victory in 2011 to solidify a sophomore season in Late Model Stock Cars that began at the Elon, NC track just one year ago.

Friday’s event comes one day after the start of the 2011-12 school calendar for Jesse who enters his freshman year of high school. With the busy schedule making the weekend at ACE, a track Little has claim a victory at while running the Southeast Limited Late Model Series, comes at a perfect time of the week. With several top-5 runs throughout the season dashed by mechanical gremlins or on-track incidents, Little is mindful of staying focused and setting realistic goals for the weekend, he noted.

“Our approach to the weekend is similar to any other race track or event we go to. I need to go in there confident in the team and our ability and keep a humble head on my shoulders. The biggest thing is to just be smart throughout the night.”

Carrying famous pedigree into each late model race does not change Little’s approach to racing the completion, many of whom will be chasing points for a season championship.

“Since it’s getting close to the end of the season and the local points are heating up I do have to take some note of that but I am going into this race just like anyone else would and that’s to win whether they’re points racing or not.”

Experience in the Leavitt Racing Chassis Chevrolet and the unique corners of ACE Speedway will prove beneficial in making adjustments for a potential run to victory, Little added.

“For the type of car we’re running this weekend and the speeds we reach I don’t think the two corners will make a big difference in our set-ups. You do need to be aware of both from a driving style and the line you take through each one. However once the race starts you know how the car will react in either turn.”
